Now, I may be biased, but I'd like a post to pay homage to my mother who I think was, and still is, absolutely beautiful.

CREATION

On a recent trip to Lewisham got this amazing fabric for £2 a metre so decided to make up this little dress/top/skirt fingy.

Can't find my camera so excuse crappy phone pictures. I am by no means a seamstress, I'm too impatient to measure or pin or cut anything neatly. This is just a tube of material with a bit of elastic sewn inside the top to give a gathered effect. Simples.

I also got a few charity shop bits, including this dress which I later massacred and made far too short. Infuriating.

Anyway, I couldn't have left it as it was. I thought it might make a nice maxi but it clung in all the wrong places and was hideously unflattering. Still, I might attempt to sew back on some of the off cuts in order to make it vaguely wearable again. URG.

COACHELLA DREAMING

Coachella 2012 is looking like a very real possibility and I will hopefully be going with two of my favourite people in the world, Jakey H (http://internationalpartyboy.blogspot.com/) and Miss Linkown. While Jake will be a glowing Mischa Barton in blazer and short denims, I will be an ethereal Diane Kruger in maxi skirt and flower garland (though this is probably a far more realistic look for us- http://tinyurl.com/3ow5m7g). Anyway, as it's a miserable Sunday I'd like to get myself excited with a homage to my favourite Coachella style.

BETTER LATE

...than never. Serious lack of June updates! I wish it could say it was due to my fledgling fashion career taking off but it's sadly just sheer inertia on my part.
